On the PPACA (Obamacare) Bill

Conservative Republicans (of which I am one), I’d love to join you in the pity party you guys are throwing on Facebook. Unfortunately, I do have a life. In short, I think that the collective group of you that are attacking Obama, saying the Constitution is now defunct, and calling it the end of the world… are overreacting a bit.

I’m linking you guys to an article from one of my favorite sites, Lifehacker, which displays the specific consequences this bill is going to impose on Americans. View it here and it will put things in context for you.

I don’t agree that this bill is Constitutional just like most conservatives, but I don’t think it’s going to be that bad.

But I’m not here to talk about the bill as much as I’m here to say this: you’re not helping buy posting hate-propaganda about our current government. Conservatives, I understand that you don’t like it, but all you’re doing on Facebook is shouting into the wind. You want to do something about the people and policies in Washington? Here’s what you can do.

— Vote them out. Seriously.
— Write to your congressmen. Here’s how you can find them.
— Participate in non-violent protests. The tea-party movement is one of them.
— Explain yourself.  Tell people WHY you hate what Washington is doing and use specifics. Prove yourselves like a logical human being.

Rumor has it that Sunday has a movie review coming. I hope it’s true. 🙂

Matthew Estes

Matthew Estes currently exists in the ether between graudate student and full-time worker. One day he hopes to be a full-time novelist and blogger, but until that day comes he spends his time playing video games, eating pizza, and being with his soon-to-be wife. However, he has yet to do all three at the same time. Bucket list stuff, you know.

    1. Thanks for the link. It’s true that the emergency room does have a few issues that could be worked on.
